Plastering and external insulation, done properly and left tidy.
Walsh Plastering & Construction plasters and skims inside, renders and insulates outside, and takes on extensions and renovations from the blockwork to the finish. One crew, two vans, the same standard on every job.
Everything a wall needs, from the first coat to the last
If your job is not on this list, ring and ask. The answer is usually yes.
External wall insulation
Insulation boards fixed to the outside of the house, meshed, base-coated and finished in the render colour you pick. Warmer rooms, lower heating bills and a house that looks new from the road.
External rendering
Sand and cement or a modern silicone finish over block, brick or old render. Straight lines at the reveals, clean edges at the eaves, a colour that lasts.
Internal plastering
Scratch coat and float on new blockwork, or a full re-plaster where the old walls have gone. Flat, square and ready for paint.
Skimming
A thin finish coat over plasterboard or sound old plaster. The quickest way to make a tired room feel new again.
Dry lining
Plasterboard fixed to walls and ceilings, taped and jointed or skimmed. Cleaner and faster than wet plaster where it suits the job.
Energy upgrades
Insulation that brings an older house up to today's standard, usually starting with the outside walls. Ring us and we will tell you what would make the biggest difference to your house.
Home extensions
From the blockwork up: the walls, the plaster, the render and the finish, with one crew from start to end.
Renovations and repairs
Cracked render, blown plaster, damp patches, a chimney breast coming out. Small jobs and big ones, matched to what is already there.
One house, start to finish
This semi-detached bungalow came to us with cold walls and a tired finish. Here is how it went, in the order it happened.
Boards on
The old wall is cleaned down and insulation boards are fixed across the whole outside. Every board is mechanically fixed and bonded, with the reveals, sills and eaves cut in around the windows and doors.

Mesh and base coat
A reinforcing mesh goes into a base coat over the boards. This is the layer that stops cracking and takes the knocks, so it gets done slowly.

The finish
The final render goes on in the colour picked at the start, with white bands at the reveals. The drive is cleared, the sheeting comes up and the house is handed back.

The same three stages, in the same order, on every insulation job we do.
The difference it makes
Before
After
Same house, same hoop in the drive, a few weeks apart. Drag the handle to compare.
Why people ring us back
Tidy
Sheeting down before we start, everything swept and loaded at the end of the day. Your drive is your drive.
Straight
Reveals, corners and bands that are level when you sight down them. It is the detail people notice from the road.
Plain quotes
A price for the job, in writing, before we start. If something changes on site, you hear it from us first.
One crew
The people who quote the job are the people who do it. No subcontractors you have never met.

About Walsh Plastering & Construction
We are a plastering and construction crew working out of two vans, doing the walls of houses inside and out: skimming and plastering, dry lining, external rendering and insulation, and the plaster and render side of extensions and renovations.
The line on the side of the van is the one we work to.
